This project is a team work. I worked with UX/UI designer and industrial designers to create a product for 2040 by using Gravity Sketch. Biometrics is a wearable installation that improves our normal functions through human emotion, body awareness, daily movement and transport.

Gravity Sketch is an intuitive and immersive 3D design tool. Our objective is to create a wearable installation for 2040 that improves our normal functions through human emotion, body awareness, daily movement and transport by Gravity Sketch. Providing the user a better life by helping them to know more about their body and emotions.

We did some surveys and interviews with our potential audience to know about their current problem and what they want in the future. In this phase, our goal is to find the current pain points people face with their physical and mental health, and their expectations for the future lifestyle.
We did an online survey using Google Forms to find out what people think about wearable installations, how they manage their health and the problems they met, and identify potential solutions. We received 22 responses.
Survey sample questions:
Key insights derived from the surveys:
1. They think wearable installation is potential, popular, and incredible in the future.
2. Bring people convenient lifestyle, and perfect balance between reality and internet.
3. More commonly used and necessary.
4. They are more accepting of wearing them on their heads or hands.
5. Lighter weight is very important.
6. Easy to use and easy to wear.
7. People like to do some fitness and eat a healthy diet to care their physical health.
8. The hardest thing is to insist on doing it.
9. The purpose of caring health is to avoid and prevent potential disease.
10. They hope the installation can check for any sudden medical conditions, being alerted prior to getting sick, reminding them to drink water, eat fruit and adjust posture.
11. Most of them know how to control emotions, one third don’t know.
12. Currently, analyzing the reason of emotions is the most common method to control emotions.
13. They hope to get encouragement to control their emotions.
14. Obtain concrete and practical suggestions.
Based on the results of survey, we did interviews with the target audiences to know more details about their thoughts and need. During the interviews, we focus on connecting VR and physical/mental health and explore more opportunities to have a better life.
We had interviews with 6 people.
Interview sample questions:
The recordings of the interviews:
The interview results can be further classified into 6 categories:
Compared with data, they prefer to know a visible conclusion to tell them about their health.
The females take care about their menstruations.
Emotion Store: They would like to review their emotions.
Emotion share: They think it's beneficial to achieve empathy, and avoid retelling. But they care about the privacy, and they need the right to reject be shared.
People can see their match rate with others as friends or partners.
They hope to have a real touch feeling while VR call.
They like the idea of recording their dreams during sleep, or even control their dreams.
They hope the wearable installation can help they contact with families or friends, call the police or ambulance when emergency happens.
Protect them when meet bad guys, or protect from hurt.
Help people live better in the real world, but not focus on the virtual space.
In order to better determine, analyze and display users' pain points and needs, as well as determine the main functions of the product, we made storyboards for the parts of body, flight, emotion and social interaction. Here are the storyboards of body and social functions, which are created by me.
According to the storyboards and the main features of the product, we use card sorting to categories all the features, which will help us to do with the wireframe and interface.
The product including two parts, the suite and the drone. The product design was done by the teammates who are majoring in industry design.
To better demonstrate how users can use the product, and how the suite, the drone and the user interface work together, I did the UX scenario by Gravity Sketch.
Here is the link to the entire prototype. Feel free to click and play around!
Control your fly height, speed, see your fly track on the map, adjust your flight mode, auto or manual, and etc.
Adjust the temperature of the entire suit, as well as parts of the suit, such as the chest, stomach and knees, which provide a more efficient way to keep a comfortable temperature for you.
You can check your physical health state and daily records, as well as get suggestions about how to improve your physical health state.
In addition to see your daily emotions changes, you can experience, share and store your emotions.
Know the matching rate between you with people around you, including the percentage of of matching, and the details of the common points, personalities.
Learn about the suit and drone through the interface, such as their condition, their functions, the materials, etc. You can rotate, zoom in and out to see every detail.
